5 Interior Design Tips for a Welcoming Entryway

Designing and styling your entryway is a great way to showcase your personality! We firmly believe that interiors visually communicate a story and that each space is an opportunity to share those unique stories. The first step into a home can set the stage for what’s to come, why not make the experience both memorable and stylish.
Are you unsure where to start the process for styling your entryway? Not to worry! We’re highlighting some of our favorite ways to create a unique entryway we’ve designed for our clients and sharing tips on how to make a memorable first impression for your home.
1. Statement Mirror
A statement mirror is a fantastic way to add function and also style to the entryway of your home. Available in an endless variety of designs and shapes, select one that reflects you.

2. Lighting: Chandeliers, Pendants, Table Lamps
Decorative lighting is the jewelry of the room.
Draw the eye up to a beautiful chandelier or create a warm ambiance by placing a table lamp or two on a piece of furniture. The glow achieved by incorporating lighting selections and lighting layers make for an inviting atmosphere.
Entryway tables and console tables (pictured here and above) are a great way to add storage, function, and a place to host decorative items.
3. Artwork
Select a favorite piece of art for your entryway. Display a single work or create a collection to feature. It can be a wonderful conversation starter, too!
4. Decorative Touches
Objects
Showcasing objects that make up an interesting vignette is a great way to add interest and intrigue. Mix and match different shapes and set objects on a stack of books to achieve varying heights. Using a decorative tray also helps anchor all of your objects.
Favorite Photos
Showcasing some of your favorite framed photographs is a great way to display cherished memories. We love adding frames in different textures, materials, and finishes for a real curated mix. Prefer a more streamlined, cohesive look? Select frames in the same color family or material and include varying heights for visual movement and interest.
Plants / Candle
Bring the outside in and add some greenery to your entryway or foyer. Let the seasons and time of year guide you and serve to inspire your selections of plants, flowers and aromas. That, coupled with your favorite candle is sure to allure your guests as they enter your home.
5. Rug
We may hear expressions like, “Don’t forget to look up” or “Hold your head high” but in this case we invite you to look down! Select a rug for your entry that excites you and adds an opportunity to showcase your style and flair. Rugs are able to ground many of your featured design elements and tie everything together through color, pattern, texture and shape!
+ Bonus points if you have a fury friend situated on the rug ready to greet your guests :-)
