Historic Meets Edgy
The Beeches
The Beeches is a 1870s Gilded Age home situated among Newport’s most iconic Bellevue Avenue mansions. Designed by architect George Champlin Mason, Sr., this summer retreat is now home to a multi-generational family. We furnished the first level from top to bottom, honoring the home’s historic roots while infusing it with enticing details for all ages:
Velvet settee, chandelier, and modern console create an intriguing entryway
Traditional-style furnishings, drapery, and lighting preserve the home’s character
Custom, oversized cheetah-print area rug adds an edgy, avant-garde vibe
Two-tone coffered ceilings create the appearance of openness
Strategic furniture layout defines zones for lounging, dining, and entertaining
Grasscloth wallpapers layer in visual depth and comfort in the home
